Villa Rita

Lodging and workshops for the retreat are provided at Villa Rita, a secure country estate nestled in the midst of fruit trees, green spaces and a beautiful view. The estate is 20 minutes west of the international airport near the small town of La Garita in the province of Alajuela. We offer for your enjoyment our swimming pool, tennis court and poolside BBQ, a warm and friendly spot to kick back and enjoy handwork, card games or just plain relaxing. We sit 200 yards off the highway in a gated, guarded property.

The cottages are top-drawer and are carefully cleaned and inspected for your stay. They are snug, comfortable and fully furnished with cable TV: just bring your toothbrush! Meals are provided at the retreat, but if you wish to extend your stay you will be able to take advantage of the cottage's kitchen, which is fully equipped with fridge, coffee maker, gas stove, toaster oven, pots/pans and dishes. You are also welcome to use the laundry room.

Our community of La Garita boasts the best climate in Costa Rica, and is just minutes away from a bird sanctuary. We are also close to a wood factory, vineyard, butterfly farm and coffee tour. The Poas Volcano is about an hour away, and Jaco beach (on the Pacific coast) is about an hour and a quarter. We are 40 minutes from San Jose and 15 minutes from Alajuela's International Shopping Mall.
